My Simple Method for Writing SOPs
I’m not here to overcomplicate this (that’s not how we roll).Here’s how I coach my clients through creating SOPs that actually work:
Step 1: Write It Down While You Do It
The next time you sit down to complete a recurring task... pause and document every step.Yes, even the parts that feel obvious.
You can:
Open a Google Doc
Use a voice note and transcribe it later
Record a Loom video of your screen
The point is: Capture your process while it’s fresh.
Step 2: Make It Repeatable
Add in:
Logins
Links
Templates
Due dates
Who’s responsible
SOPs are only helpful if someone else can use them without needing you.

Step 3: Use It + Tweak It
Once it’s documented, start using it!And yes... expect it to evolve. ***You are cement into any process... Use it and then tweak it where ever is needed
Good SOPs are living documents.Check in regularly to see what’s working and where your team (or you!) get stuck.That’s where the magic happens.
